Bench Research

Privacy Policy

Effective: May 5, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information Bench Research (“we,” “us”) collects when you use benchresearch.com and the related Service, why we collect it, and how we handle it. By using the Service you consent to the practices described here.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information you provide directly

  • Account information. When you sign up, our auth provider Clerk receives and stores your name, email address, and (if you choose) a password or third-party identity (e.g. Google). Clerk shares a stable user identifier and your primary email with us.
  • Order data. The tickers, analysis dates, and depth settings you submit when ordering a Report.
  • Communications. Anything you send us at support@benchresearch.com.

1.2 Information collected automatically

  • Session data. Clerk sets cookies that keep you signed in. We use these to authenticate your requests.
  • Usage logs. Standard server logs (IP address, user agent, request paths and timestamps) for security, abuse prevention, and debugging. Logs are retained for a limited period.

1.3 Information from payments

Payments are processed by Stripe. Stripe collects and stores your payment-card details directly. We receive only a customer identifier, the amount paid, the product purchased, and confirmation events. We never see or store your full card number.

2. How We Use Information

  • To create and operate your account.
  • To generate and deliver the Reports you order.
  • To process payments and grant credits.
  • To send transactional emails (via Resend) such as completion notices and receipts.
  • To respond to support requests.
  • To detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, or violations of our Terms of Service.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

We do not use your data to train AI models, and we do not sell your personal information.

3. How Reports Are Generated

Reports are produced by sending the ticker and analysis date you select, plus generic prompt scaffolding, to Anthropic(the LLM provider) and to public market-data providers (e.g. Alpha Vantage, Yahoo Finance). We do not send your name, email, or any other identifying information into model prompts.

4. Storage of Reports

Generated Report bundles are stored in Cloudflare R2and delivered to you via short-lived signed download URLs. We retain Reports indefinitely so that you can re-download them; you can request deletion at any time at support@benchresearch.com.

5. Sharing With Third Parties

We share information only with the providers needed to operate the Service:

  • Clerk — authentication and account data
  • Stripe — payments and invoicing
  • Cloudflare — file storage and CDN
  • Resend — transactional email
  • Anthropic — model inference for Report generation
  • Alpha Vantage / Yahoo Finance — market data
  • Hosting providers (Vercel, Railway) for running the Service

Each provider has its own privacy policy. We may also share information if required by law, to enforce our Terms, or as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (in which case we will give notice).

6. Data Retention

Account, order, and payment records are retained for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward to comply with legal, accounting, or reporting obligations. Server logs are retained for a limited period for security purposes.

7. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, email support@benchresearch.com. We may need to verify your identity before responding.

8. Security

We use industry-standard security practices including TLS for all traffic, hashed credentials at our auth provider, server-side-only storage of API keys, and least-privilege access tokens to file storage. No method of transmission or storage is 100 % secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. International Users

The Service is operated from the United States. By using the Service, you consent to the transfer of your information to the United States, which may have data-protection laws different from those of your home country.

11. Changes

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced by email or by a notice on the Service. The “Effective” date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
